Dennis Valentine retired as of December 31, 2017.
Dennis E. Valentine was our principal attorney at the Dennis E. Valentine Law Office. Dennis practiced in the areas of estate planning, probate and estate administration, and the representation of trustees and other fiduciaries.
He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy and served six years in the Air Force. While in the Air Force he earned a master’s degree in economics from Georgetown University. He graduated cum laude from the law school at the University of Denver. At law school he was a member of the Law Review and the Order of St. Ives. He is licensed to practice in all Colorado state courts and federal courts including the United States Supreme Court.
He is a member of the Douglas County Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association where he belongs to the Trust and Estate Section and serves on the Elder Law Committee.
In addition to his legal practice, he represents seniors at the Colorado Legislature concerning important issues impacting older adults as an AARP Legislative Advocate. Previously, he served on the Douglas County School District Long Range Planning Committee.
Dennis served the equestrian community as a former member of the Arabian Horse Owners Foundation Board of Trustees, the United States Equestrian Federation Board of Directors, and the Arabian Horse Association Board of Directors. He earned the Colorado Arabian Alice Skoog Volunteer of the Year Award and the Region 8 Arabian Volunteer of the Year Award. He is married with adult children and three grandchildren.
Legal assistant Stephanie “Stevie” McMillan worked for our firm since 2002, primarily assisting with probate administration and the preparation of trusts, guardianship, and conservator reports.
She has more than 25 years of experience in the legal profession and a background in public relations and conflict resolution. She is married with three children.
