Dennis E. Valentine, Principal
Attorney Dennis E. Valentine is the principal attorney at the Law Firm of Dennis E. Valentine, where he concentrates his practice on estate planning, estate administration, probate administration and representation of trustees and other fiduciaries throughout the Denver metro area and surrounding Colorado counties.
Mr. Valentine graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelor’s degree in 1965 and later earned a Master's in Economics from Georgetown University. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force and then attended law school at the University of Denver, where he was a member of the Law Review and the Order of St. Ives. He graduated cum laude from law school in 1973.
Mr. Valentine is admitted to practice in all Colorado state courts. He is also licensed to represent clients in the federal trial court in Colorado as well as the applicable federal appellate courts including the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Denver Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association, where he belongs to the Trusts and Estates Section and serves on the Elder Law Committee.
Mr. Valentine's volunteer activities include acting as an AARP Legislative Advocate since 2008, through which he lobbies the Colorado Legislature on important elder law issues. He also served as AARP South Suburban Chapter President in 2008-2009. During that time, he was also a member of the Board of the Oak Hills Homeowners Association (HOA), and was a Member and Chair of the Oak Hills HOA covenants committee.
In addition to his other activities, he is also an avid equestrian. He was on the Arabian Horse Owners Foundation Board of Trustees and on the United States Equestrian Federation Board of Directors. He was also a member of the Arabian Horse Association (AHA) Board of Directors, as well as an AHA Regional Director and Chair of the AHA Bylaws Committee. Mr. Valentine had previously served as President of the Colorado Arabian Horse Club and is the recipient of the Alice Skoog Volunteer of the Year Award and the Region 8 Volunteer of the Year Award. He is married with three adult children and three grandchildren.
Stephanie McMillan, Legal Assistant
Stephanie “Stevie” McMillan is a Legal Assistant for Dennis E. Valentine. She has been working with him since 2002 and primarily assists him with probate administration and the preparation of trust, guardianship, and conservator reports.
Stevie McMillan has more then 20 years experience in various areas of the law in probate, estate planning, elder law, litigation, family law, personal injury, collection, criminal, bankruptcy and corporate law. She also has an extensive background in public relations and conflict resolution.
She is a Colorado native and lives in the Denver metro area with her husband and three children. She enjoys spending time with her family and is a part-time chauffer to her three children, transporting them to their many sporting and school activities.
